Basic Integrated Theater Arts Workshop
The BITAW is a module developed by the Philippine Educational Theater Association and has been adopted by YATTA as a basic introductory course in theater. The BITAW has 3 major components that frame the curriculum encapsulated in the acronym PAGASA. PA for Pananaw/Paninindigan, a theater that encourages the youth to ask, to probe, to explore viewpoints, and when necessary, to form conviction. GA is for Galing/Gawa, a theater that believes in developing the creative potential of the youth, wherever their origins may be from, the only prerequisite being their willingness and commitment to learn and use their skills for positive action. SA is for Sarili/Samahan, a theater that recognizes the value of individual initiative and character while seeking ways to develop a nurturing community with a deep sense of respect for one another.
The BITAW is typically run for at least 3 days (sessions are from 9am-12noon, 1-5pm).
